Islamists may dislike Voltaire because of his criticism of organized religion, including Islam. Voltaire was known for his advocacy of freedom of speech, separation of church and state, and his satirical attacks on religious institutions. His writings often challenged the authority of religious leaders and promoted secularism, which may be seen as a threat to the beliefs and power of Islamists. Additionally, Voltaire's works were influential in the Age of Enlightenment, a period that emphasized reason, science, and individual rights, which may conflict with the more traditional and conservative values held by Islamists. **
